4 New Pixar Movies Just Dropped With Trailers, Plot Details, And More

Disney's annual "D23" showcase is taking place this weekend, and I'm currently freaking out because sooooo many announcements have already been made for their upcoming TV shows, movies, and more. For example, just last night they unveiled the new cast for Marvel's X-Men series. This includes former Girls co-stars Christopher Abbott and Adam Driver as Professor Charles Xavier and Mr. Sinister, respectively, as well as Inde Navarrette (from Obsession) as Rogue and Sadie Sink (from Stranger Things) as Jean Grey. The rest of the cast is photographed below.

First, we've got Gatto, which will be released on March 5, 2027. The movie takes place in Venice and is centered around a cat (voiced by Mark Ruffalo) who "begins to question whether he’s lived the right lives after years of maneuvering the canal-ridden, superstitious city." Laurence Fishburne voices another cat, who just so happens to be a mob boss, so I'm hooked. Below is some new concept art that was just released.

The same director and producer who made Luca are teaming up for this one, so you know it'll be good. And if you want even more, below is the teaser trailer that was released just a couple months ago.

The other original film in Pixar's pipeline is a supernatural movie called Ghost Market (previously Ono Ghost Market), which will be released on March 10, 2028. This was actually supposed to be a TV series on Disney+, but they decided to turn it into a feature film instead. It'll also have two directors – Jesse Andrews, who previously wrote Luca and Hoppers, and Oscar nominee Trevor Jimenez. This is only the second time in Pixar's history that a feature film will have two credited directors, the first being Brave (2012).
Disney / PixarAccording to three-time Oscar winner Pete Docter, Pixar's chief creative officer since 2018, the plot of the movie will be as follows: “Kyle is a fast-talking teenager and content creator from Chicago. His life gets turned upside down when his mom forces him to go on vacation to Hawaii. He stumbles into a mysterious, hidden market in the middle of nowhere. He realizes his hunt for a late-night snack has turned into something bigger. He’s discovered the crossroads of the living and the dead.” Here's the teaser trailer that was just released:

The next sequel in their lineup is Incredibles 3, but you'll have to wait until June 16, 2028, which is almost 10 years to the day from when the second movie was released. The entire cast is supposedly going to return – including Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone – and voice recording has already started, according to Holly Hunter (aka Elastigirl). However, no teaser trailer has been released yet.
Kevin Mazur / Getty ImagesThis new film will round out the trilogy and pick up immediately where the second one left off, so expect all the kids to be the same exact age. In fact, the plot will revolve heavily around Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack, who start sneaking out of the house at night to fight crime and save the day. However, according to Pete Docter, “They will face off against a supervillain more powerful than the entire family.” Brad Bird, who voices Edna Mode, will continue his reign as writer of all three movies. Peter Sohn (Elementals and The Good Dinosaur) will take over as director though.
Kevin Mazur / Getty ImagesAnd finally, Coco 2 is officially happening, but it unfortunately won't be released until November 21, 2029. This sequel will be set several years after the first, and Miguel will now be a teenager, which you can see in the concept art below.

Pixar also announced last night that "the world of Coco will be coming to Kingdom Hearts IV," which is a video game that will be released at the end of 2027.

Daddy Benjamin Bratt will return as Ernesto de La Cruz, and the plot will revolve around him getting revenge on Miguel for destroying his career and legacy. While speaking at the showcase, Bratt said he can't wait to "bring my character back to life…or, rather, back to death.”
Alsoooooo, there'snew concept artshowing Mamá Coco in the Land of the Dead, so I'm fully expecting to sob when she's reunited with Miguel.
