Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell are looking forward to forever.
The 2026 Super Bowl performer, who rose to fame on Disney, is engaged to the Cleveland Cavaliers guard. The pair first met at a networking event and announced their engagement in July 2025.
As a high-profile couple at the intersection of music and sports, Jones admitted she initially processed the milestone with a career-minded lens.
"I think about my life so much like business, and I'm like, 'Girl, you got to stop. This is the biggest contract I've ever signed.' You know what I'm saying? This is a real-life, forever commitment," she told PEOPLE in January 2026. "I talk about forever, I sing about forever, and then I'm like, 'Oh, this really forever. Okay, word up, word up.' "
Jones said part of why their relationship works is a shared understanding of ambition. Both are deeply committed to supporting each other with the same intensity they bring to their work.
"We both go really hard for the things we love, and they're demanding careers," she explained. "I feel like we speak a different language that makes me really feel seen. And he's my biggest cheerleader, so I feel like I'm never able to doubt myself in his presence. It's just not going down like that."
Here’s everything to know about Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell’s relationship.

Jones revealed that she and Mitchell first met at a networking event for creatives, sharing the story in a December 2025 interview with Complex News.
“All different types of artists, actors, athletes, influencers, models, all types of people were at this event,” she said.
Their relationship, Jones noted, began with a rare in-person connection because no phones were allowed. Although they hit it off immediately, it wasn’t actually Mitchell’s first introduction to Jones.
“Actually, he had known of me years before that because Bel-Air had done a collab with his shoe line,” she said, adding that Mitchell said he had been curious about her after watching the show. He messaged her on Instagram at the time, but she never saw the DM. In hindsight, according to Jones, the missed connection might have worked in their favor.
“He said he sent something with a red heart and that wouldn’t have worked for me anyways,” Jones said, adding she felt really lucky that they found each other years later. “That’s how you know it’s above us, it’s God. We’re meant to be,” she concluded.
They got engaged in July 2025

Jones posted a loved up picture of herself and Mitchell featuring her ring to announce their engagement on July 11, 2025.
Reps for the couple told PEOPLE that the pair got engaged on vacation.
"After an amazing season and a sold-out tour, Donovan Mitchell and Coco Jones took a moment to recharge on vacation, which turned it into a beautiful engagement," they said.
The couple also released overhead footage of the proposal showing Mitchell going down on one knee before embracing Jones.
While the engagement marked the couple’s first public confirmation of their relationship, Jones said on Shannon Sharpe's Club Shay Shay podcast that she felt many fans already suspected they were dating.
"I love the internet because they definitely clocked my tea. I love that. Little spies everywhere. I feel like I’m in a detective movie," she said.
Russel Wilson and Ciara helped plan the proposal
According to Jones’ October 2025 appearance on Sherri, another sports/music power couple helped make the big day special. Russell Wilson and Ciara congratulated them on their engagement and thanked Mitchell for letting them help plan the special moment.
“Ciara and I are so happy for you two. Thanks for allowing us to plan this with you,” Wilson wrote on his Instagram Stories.
Jones explained that Wilson connected Mitchell with the planner who orchestrated the romantic moment and responded enthusiastically when Shepard asked whether Wilson and Ciara would be asked to play a similarly involved role in their wedding.
“Pray over us, weekly dinners, please! Y’all are the mentors,” she said.

Jones and Mitchell are conscious of keeping their relationship private, but not hidden. Reacting to the rumors that they had kept their relationship under wraps, Jones told Complex News that their decision is rooted in boundaries, not secrecy.
“He has never been a secret,” she said. “I am not trying to hide him or hide us. I feel like I give a lot to the world and it’s mine. If anything, it’s how I want to honor me.”
Jones went on to explain that maintaining balance between public and private allows their relationship to remain genuine.
“I feel like it’s way more refreshing to have something authentic that you’re not trying to capitalize off of all the time,” she said.
While they may keep the day to day of their relationship to themselves, the two are not shy about sharing their admiration for each other. Mitchell told reporters during a September 2025 media day about his appreciation for Jones.
"Man, that's my dog. I love her to death,” he said. "She’s amazing. She’s an amazing human being. She brings me peace.”
He’s featured on her debut album
When asked whether any of the songs on her April 2025 debut album, Why Not More?, were inspired by Mitchell, Jones pointed to one song in particular. In a December 2025 interview with Complex News, she revealed that the song “You” reflects their relationship.
Mitchell’s involvement in the album goes beyond inspiration, though, with Jones sharing that he actually appears on the project, lending his voice to the spoken audio on “Thang 4 U.”
“He’s the voice on there talking, I don’t know if people clocked that,” she said. Looking ahead, Jones teased that her next album will have a greater focus on her love life.
“I think the next project will just be me in love, ain’t no exes, ain't no doubling back, none of the sort. That’s my next project,” she said.
Mitchell shared that accompanying his partner on her 2025 tour gave him a deeper appreciation for her talents.
"Getting to spend time with her on tour was something that was very unique 'cause you realize that she travels and works just as hard as we do. On the tour bus, up late nights," Mitchell said during media day.
"She's a special human," he continued. "And you see it in her work, and to be able to call her my fiancée, my wife, is a blessing. So, I'm grateful."

Despite juggling touring and basketball season, the couple are making time for wedding plans.
"I’ll make that time. Stop playing with me. That will get done, okay?” Jones joked to PEOPLE, adding that she thinks about the wedding “quite often.”
When it comes to the celebration itself, Jones is intent on keeping things personal, and is aiming to avoid trends, explaining to PEOPLE, "I feel like a lot of the things that I see on TikTok are specifically for TikTok, and I'm not trying to do a viral wedding.”
Once again, the balance of sharing their love and protecting their privacy is top of mind.
"If it was up to me, y'all wouldn't know," she said. "But I have to give a little because that ain't right. It's mostly going to be private and intimate and with a sprinkle of sharing is caring."
