Billy Joel's daughter, 10-year-old Della Rose, has graduated elementary school
The singer, 77, shared the news in an Instagram post, writing that he and wife Alexis Roderick are "beyond proud"

Billy Joel's middle daughter is officially an elementary school graduate!
The "Piano Man" singer, 77, shared the exciting news in a sweet Instagram post celebrating 10-year-old Della Rose Joel's achievement.
"Congratulations to our elementary school graduate! We now have a middle schooler," he wrote. "Mommy and Daddy are beyond proud of all your hard work and determination."

He finished, "Your first day of school seemed like yesterday. Amazing things are in store for this girl."
He shared a photo of Della holding her graduation certificate alongside himself and her mom, Alexis Roderick, 44.
Joel married Roderick in 2015. The couple share Della and 8-year-old Remy Anne, while Joel also has another daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, 40, from his marriage to Christie Brinkley.
As well as Della's photo with her certificate, Joel shared a series of cute snaps of his daughter through her school years, including one where she's hugging Remy, both in their uniforms, and one where she's running ahead of her dad, who's sporting two pink schoolbags.

Joel, who frequently shares family photos on social media to mark special occasions, paid tribute to "sweet" Della on her 10th birthday in August 2025.

"We are so proud of your sweet nature, empathy for others and endless love," he wrote on Instagram. "You see everything through caring eyes. We could not ask for anything more. We all love you beyond measure."

He continued, "How did we get to 10 years already? It seems like just yesterday you were running around the house looking for 'Piano Man'."
In 2019, Joel told Rolling Stone that he was happy to become a father again, joking that he would often get mistaken for his daughters' grandfather. "I take [them] to school and one of the other parents will go, 'Oh, your granddaughter's so cute,' " he said. "I still love being a dad. I didn't know that I would be a father again at this age, but I'm glad I am ... They keep you young."
Joel told PEOPLE in 2025, "I love all of my girls. And poetic justice, I had all girls, of course, but I'm really enjoying this a lot. It's something I was looking forward to all my life, and here I am."
The singer admitted that he first thought he was "too old" to have any more children, but he said in the HBO documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes, released that year, that raising children again was "such a joy."
