Britney Spears Says ‘So Much Botox’ Left Her Eye Drooping for Four Weeks

Britney Spears says a recent Botox treatment left her with a drooping eyelid for about four weeks, prompting her to warn followers to be careful with cosmetic injections.
The 44-year-old singer described the experience in an Instagram video, claiming too much Botox had been injected around her left eye. Spears demonstrated the effect by pressing down the skin above the eye and said it was only beginning to return to normal.
She called the result embarrassing and warned people considering Botox to be cautious about who performs the procedure. Spears captioned the video, “You can’t trust anyone!!!” according to Page Six.
The experience follows several previous occasions when Spears publicly complained about unwanted results from Botox, including an eyebrow that remained raised for weeks and a later treatment she said caused swelling and drooping around her eyes.
Spears Says Her Left Eye Drooped for Four Weeks
Spears blamed the latest problem on what she believed was too much Botox around her left eye. “She put so much Botox in this left eye that it drooped down like that,” Spears said, according to The Independent.
Four weeks after the procedure, Spears said the eyelid was “just now starting to raise up and be normal again.” She described having the drooping eye as embarrassing before addressing followers who might be considering the injections themselves.

“Girls, you have to be careful if you do Botox,” Spears said. She also warned followers to be cautious about practitioners, adding, “Be careful with your bodies, because it’s yours and you own it.”
Spears Previously Said Botox Left One Eyebrow Raised for Three Weeks
Spears described another unwanted Botox result in February 2022, when she said one eyebrow remained unusually raised for three weeks.
In an Instagram post covered by The Independent, Spears recalled considering another treatment for forehead lines before remembering an earlier experience in which one eyebrow would not come back down.
She compared the uneven result to the eyebrow gag in the Adam Sandler comedy Just Go With It and said she initially worried that the change could be permanent.
She Vowed ‘Never Again’ After Another Botox Experience in 2023
Spears returned to the subject in August 2023, when she said she had experienced what she called a “reverse effect” from Botox. Us Weekly reported that Spears complained of forehead swelling and said one eye appeared bruised and higher than the other after treatment.
In the accompanying Instagram video, Spears said the swelling made her eyelids “droop over” and claimed she could not comfortably go out for about two weeks. She said at the time that she was done with Botox, writing, “Never again in Los Angeles.” Her latest video comes roughly three years after that declaration.
Drooping Eyelids Are Listed Among Possible Botox Cosmetic Side Effects
Spears has not publicly identified the injector involved in the latest treatment. BOTOX Cosmetic’s official safety information lists drooping eyelids and eyebrows among possible eye-related side effects. It also lists double vision, blurred vision, decreased eyesight, eyelid swelling and dry eyes. The manufacturer’s safety information also warns that effects involving botulinum toxin can occur hours to weeks after an injection.
