Outlander fans are already emotional as they get ready to say goodbye to the fan-favorite show, and on March 2, the stars came out in New York City to celebrate at the official premiere of the eighth and final season.

Caitríona Balfe, who has starred in the show as Claire Fraser since its premiere in 2014, arrived at Alice Tully Hall looking stunning in a bold yet simple ensemble that had fans in awe.

She turned heads in a bright red silk dress with lace around the bodice and at the bottom of the skirt. Balfe kept her hair and makeup straightforward as well, with her hair parted in the middle with natural soft waves and a soft red lip color. Her bright blue eyes naturally shone through.

Her longtime co-star and on-screen love interest, Sam Heughan, was by her side at the premiere, wearing a complementary outfit. The actor, who plays Jamie Fraser, looked dashing in a unique black, red and green Scottish kilt and jacket, with high lace-up boots on his feet. Balfe and Heughan posed together at the meaningful event.

Along with the two main stars, other cast members at the premiere included John Bell, Sophie Skelton, César Domboy, Lauren Lyle, and Richard Rankin, among others.

The highly anticipated final season of Outlander will premiere on STARZ on March 6, with new episodes released weekly. The season will have 10 episodes total.

In an interview with Parade while filming the last season, Balfe opened up about the struggles of wrapping up such a big experience. She noted that one of the toughest things to deal with will be "not coming here and seeing all of these people that I’ve worked with for 11 years. Stability, that’s going to be really hard to let go of."

As for what she hoped Outlander's legacy would be, she said, "I hope it continues to just be inspirational and aspirational... Also, I hope that we just continue to draw people to Scotland by showing them what a beautiful place it is.”
