Norah O'Donnell's daughter is celebrating a major milestone.

On Saturday, June 6, the CBS News journalist, 52, shared a few family photos from her 17-year-old daughter Riley's graduation on Instagram. The graduate looked elegant in a long, white dress with a dainty pearl necklace as she posed alongside her family on her special day.

"Graduation season. Proud of our Riley. ✨" O'Donnell captioned her post.

In addition to her daughter, O'Donnell shares twins Henry and Grace, 19, with her husband, Geoff Tracy. The married couple, who tied the knot in 2001, show their love to their kids and each other through cooking. Growing up, O'Donnell always looked forward to sitting around the dining table with her family.

"It's an important time to sit down and talk about everything that's happened over the weekend and then we watch 60 Minutes together," O'Donnell told PEOPLE exclusively back in 2019. "But the best part is we're teaching our kids the importance of cooking at home."

O'Donnell said at the time that she and Tracy share kitchen duties, but everyone pitches in.

"It's easy to order out, and we love that too," she said, "but I'm glad the kids have an appreciation for making meals for each other, and as a part of that have also learned how to load the dishwasher and take out the trash afterward."

For O'Donnell, cooking is an activity she looks forward to.

"We're big on food in our house," she said, adding that some of her family's favorite dishes include her steak fajitas, lasagna, and whole-grain blueberry pancakes.

"'To cook something for the people you love is like therapy," she continued. "To make a beautiful meal for your family or friend, it's incredibly relaxing and also brings me a lot of joy."

While they are hands-on parents, with O'Donnell and Tracy documenting the kids learning to drive and going off to prom on their Instagram accounts, raising kids during the COVID-19 pandemic while working from home put the family to the test.

"Right now, I'm a work-at-home mom and the managing editor of the CBS Evening News," O'Donnell told PEOPLE in 2020. "I was on a call with someone from the White House, and my daughter was shouting at me that the printer doesn't work. Lots of times, I'm on a conference call and cooking breakfast for the kids at the same time. Luckily, they have the 'stop video' feature on Zoom."
