Channing Tatum is mourning late actor James Ransone.

Tatum, 45, shared a photo of himself posing with Ransone to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Dec. 24. The photo was taken on Tatum's 30th birthday in 2010. Ransone and Tatum costarred in the 2011 movie The Son of No One, which follows Tatum as a police officer in New York City in the early 2000s harboring a dark secret from his childhood.

"There ain't words for these things. But you my friend... was one of the realest. I remember being in every conversation with you and just always being like I wonder what he's gonna say.!!??? Lololol," Tatum wrote in the caption to his tribute.

"I love you PJ I'll see you on the next one my G," he added.

The Los Angeles County Medical examiner determined on Sunday, Dec. 21 that Ransone, who appeared to go by the nickname PJ, died Dec. 19 in an apparent suicide. He was 46.

The actor was best known for portraying the character Ziggy Sobotka in the second season of HBO's The Wire, as well as appearing in the Sinister horror movies and his role in 2019's It: Chapter Two as Eddie Kaspbrak. Most recently, Ransone appeared in the two Black Phone movies and in one episode of the Peacock mystery series Poker Face.

Ransone's wife Jamie McPhee shared an emotional tribute to the actor on Monday, Dec. 22. The pair shared two children, Jack and Violet, whom McPhee wrote were "the greatest gifts" Ransone gave her. McPhee also shared a follow-up Instagram post on Dec. 23 in which she wrote that the "outpouring of love" for her husband following his death was "truly beyond anything you could ever imagine," while directly addressing Ransone.

"In the weeks before you left us, after months of telling me nearly every regret you’d ever carried: every mistake, every f----up, every hurtful thing you thought you’d wrote or said, you burst into tears and said: 'Babe, you know the most f----up thing of all? I actually love everyone.' Well babe, it turns out that despite all of it, everyone actually loves you too."
