Emma Roberts was a vision in silk chiffon during her wedding to Cody John!

The American Horror Story star, 35, married the actor, 36, in a romantic ceremony in Sun Valley, Idaho on Saturday, July 25. Roberts wore a custom-made by Monique Lhuillier gown in a custom color, vintage rose, that was named in honor of the actress’ middle name — “Rose.”

“I didn’t really know what I wanted,” Roberts told Vogue in an interview from her final dress fitting. “I just knew that I wanted it to feel very vintage-inspired. I’m obsessed with antique books and treasure hunting, and I love collecting old ephemera, so I really wanted that to shine through in the dress.”

Roberts explained that the color of the dress was very important to her, adding that she didn’t want to go down the aisle in a pure white shade.

“I kind of wanted to look like a ghost — a little antique ghost doll,” Roberts told the outlet of the final color they created.

Roberts’ wedding dress was made in silk chiffon, which ended up requiring 25 yards of fabric dyed to the star’s custom color. The dress converts into five different looks, including a removable shawl that creates a strapless neckline, and took about nine months to take.

When Roberts first tried on the dress, she said, “I feel like an elfin fairy,” according to Vogue.

She was also certain that her new husband would be just as in love with the dress as Roberts was. “He wouldn’t care if I wore jeans,” Roberts said. “But he’s gonna definitely die for this.”

For her second look, Roberts opted for a vintage dress from Lhuillier’s fall 2004 collection. The two-piece black look included a corset top in Chantilly lace and a tea-length, hand-cut skirt in layered silk organza.

“I love the idea of wearing black for the after party,” Roberts explained of her choice. “We love doing something that’s a little unexpected. This looks like it could be totally vintage from 100 years ago, or from now. This is going to be so fun in Idaho at the after party.”

Roberts and John announced their engagement in July 2024. “Putting this here before my mom tells everyone ❤️,” Roberts wrote at the time alongside a photo of the pair, as she flashed her diamond engagement ring. (The Screen Queens alum’s mother is Kelly Cunningham.)

Roberts and John — who has appeared in TV shows including Hulu’s Wu-Tang: An American Saga and The CW’s In the Dark — first went public with their romance in August 2022. At the time, John posted a photo kissing Roberts on Instagram with the caption, “Sweet sweet.”

Roberts then went Instagram official with John in December 2022, sharing a photo of the couple holding hands. “#2022 I loved you ❤️ happy new year hotties!” the caption of her New Year’s Eve post read.
