Halle Berry said she’s embracing her changing face and body as part of aging naturally

The 60-year-old actress claims she notices something new “every day” when she looks in the mirror

She also recently launched a vaginal dryness gel, calling it a confidence booster that has improved her sex life

Halle Berry is practicing self-love.

During a panel at Create & Cultivate’s On Her Own Terms: Halle Berry on Menopause, Aging & Women’s Health event in Los Angeles on Sept. 20, the 60-year-old actress answered a series of rapid-fire questions from moderator Jaclyn Johnson.

She was asked to finish a sentence about what she’s “embracing” most with age.

“My new face and body,” said Berry, before pausing for a moment. “It is changing. I look in the mirror every day and I see, ‘Oh God, there’s one thing that wasn’t there last week,’ but what I’m proud of is that I can learn to accept that and not turn myself into a monster with all kinds of things we could do today.”

“I can accept aging as a natural part of life and I can know that I’m more than this body and this face that I’m walking around in,” the Crime 101 star added.

The statement about embracing her face and body comes after Berry partnered with Joylux to launch a new vaginal dryness gel, Juicy Like a Peach, in July.

“None of my doctors uttered a word about menopause, perimenopause, change of life, nothing,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “They all just kept telling me, ‘You look great.’ They never told me that no matter what you look like, your hormones are changing and your insides are aging. Like, nobody dared say that.”

She likened the new product “to what Viagra does for men.”

“It allows us to maintain our moisture, to have pain-free sex so that we can feel confident and be spontaneous again,” said Berry. “It’s changed my sex life. I have my confidence back. I’m always ready now.”

During the Create & Cultivate event, Berry also spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about the influence her style and beauty has had on other actresses.

Most recently, Zendaya took inspiration from the Catwoman star’s look from the 2002 premiere of Die Another Day.

The Odyssey actress, 30, stepped out for the Emmy Awards on Sept. 14 in a custom Prada dress covered in silver sequins with her hair in a pixie cut similar to the style Berry was famed for. The outing was one of her first appearances with a “reimagined” pixie cut, styled with texture and lift through a “modern, editorial lens,” hairstylist Coree Moreno said in a press release.

“I do speak to her and I have to say she is the sweetest and my little sweetheart and I would love to find something to do with her someday,” said Berry of Zendaya. “I mean, hopefully we will, but I’m just a supporter of her.”

“I love everything she’s doing,” she continued. “I think she is changing the game in so many ways for her generation. And I couldn’t be more proud of someone or to know someone honored that she would pay homage to me that way. That was really sweet.”
