Influencer Sarah Palmyra is getting candid with her followers days after announcing she had ended her engagement.

On Feb. 17, Palmyra — who shares her life to a combined following of 2 million across Instagram and TikTok — revealed that she had ended her engagement after a little over a year, acknowledging that it was something she had been “privately grieving and dealing with.”

“I've been really scared,” admitted the influencer, 31, in her initial video. “I'm scared of feeling judged. I'm scared of feeling embarrassed. And I'm mostly scared of just being vulnerable.”

The content creator added that she had previously made a “very public” series of videos trying on wedding dresses and had “proudly shared” that she would be getting married, which made it feel “embarrassing” to make a public statement that she was no longer planning a wedding.

In an update on Feb. 24, the influencer continued to open up about the end of her engagement, sharing a video where she shared that she was “doing OK” after the announcement and was “taking things day by day.”

“Some days are easier, and I feel more clarity, and other days are really, really hard,” continued Palmyra. “I think a lot of women who are watching this [are] wondering if they're going to get this overwhelming feeling of clarity. Sometimes that just doesn't come. And sometimes you can logically know that something is not going to work for you, but feel the total opposite.”

Palmyra also revealed that she had moved back in with her parents after the engagement ended — and that she had the urge to change her name, cut her hair, move to a different location, delete her social media accounts and “run away,” she said.

“I ultimately decided that doing that would be a bad idea,” said Palmyra. “I just want to say thank you so much for sticking by me and really supporting me and holding my hand during this time. I honestly feel like you guys were my internet bridesmaids, and now you're my internet besties and you're just here holding the ice as we go through this really interesting plot twist in my life.”
