Jack Black marked 20 years of marriage with wife Tanya Haden with a sweet tribute shared on Instagram on Sunday, Feb. 22.
The actor met Haden when they were high school students, but it wasn't until years later that they began a relationship

Jack Black is sharing some special memories with his wife, Tanya Haden, as they celebrate two decades of marriage.
On Sunday, Feb. 22, the Jumani actor, 56, marked the special occasion on Instagram by sharing key moments with Haden, 54, that have been captured on camera throughout the years. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Big Sur, Calif., in 2006 after a short courtship.
One photo Black shared showed Haden staring into his eyes, while another was of the pair meditating with their two sons — Samuel "Sammy" Jason Black, 19, and Thomas “Tommy” David Black, 17 — as toddlers. Haden was perched on Black’s lap in a third photo, while he also included several clips of her in good spirits on a swing and dancing.
“20 years! Happy anniversary my love. @tanyahaden,” Black captioned the post.

The sweet tribute also included photos of Haden playing the drums and posing with their sons as babies.
"❤️🙌❤️🙌," Black's King Kong costar Naomi Watts wrote in the comments section, while Josh Brolin commented with a series of red heart emojis.

Black and Haden dated for less than a year before they married, but had known each other for much longer. Black told Parade in 2015 that he was “pretty shy” when they initially met at Crossroads, a private high school in Santa Monica, Calif.
“I didn’t date Tanya or talk to her or anything in high school,” he recalled to the outlet. “I was pretty shy. I just watched her from afar."
It wasn’t until years later, when they reconnected at a surprise birthday party for a mutual friend, that their romance sparked.
"She came up to me and said, 'Hey, do you ever wanna go get dinner? I should give you my number,' " said Black during an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast in August 2024. "And I was like, oh my God. Heaven opened up above my head, because it was like, this is the thing that I would always want to happen."

Black revealed in the same interview that he and Haden agreed on having children as their relationship blossomed, but it took his brother’s convincing to get married.
He and Haden welcomed their first child, Samuel, in June 2006 — just months after they tied the knot — and two years later, their second son, Thomas.
"We didn't get married because it was like, [we] don't really believe in the contract and that whole thing. Why is it necessary? And then as soon as she had a baby in her belly, my brother was like, 'What the hell are you — you marry her!' " said the School of Rock star. "I was like, you're right, dude. I got on bended knee and she laughed and said yes."
