JoJo Siwa poked fun at the differences between her distinct phases in a TikTok
Her current identity, associated with her choice to go by her given name Joelle, is marked by simpler clothes and hair styles — in contrast with her 2024 punk-rock persona
"You could tell me these are 2 different people and I would believe you," Siwa said of her two distinct styles
JoJo Siwa is large, she contains multitudes!
She may not be Walt Whitman, but the "Karma" singer, 22, is well aware of her distinct phases, poking fun at the differences — including her recent shift to using her given name, Joelle — in a March 16 TikTok. Wearing two different getups from her new "I'm Still Dancing" music video, Siwa playfully lip-synced both sides of a Kardashian voiceover argument to highlight how much she's changed in years past.
In the TikTok, Siwa introduces two opposing versions of herself. "Joelle," distinguished by baby-pink clothes and neat hair, reflects the more mature, classically feminine identity which she identifies with most closely at present. Conversely, JoJo's "bad girl era," per E! Online, features edgy attire, teased hair and bold black face paint, all of which are associated with her 2024 song "Karma."
"You could tell me these are 2 different people and I would believe you," Siwa wrote in the caption.
In addition to the two personas displayed in her TikTok, Siwa also highlights her glittery, vibrant phase reminiscent of her childhood on Dance Moms. Her remaining three personas include a construction worker, a softball player and her look from her controversial "Bette Davis Eyes" cover song.

Siwa swapped from her nickname to her given name on New Year's Eve in 2025 by listing "Joelle Siwa" on her TikTok. Fans quickly noticed her boyfriend, Chris Hughes, had begun calling her by the new moniker as well.

Siwa, whose full name is Joelle Joanie Siwa, told E! News’ The Rundown in February she'd warmed up to using her given name.
“I've gotten more comfortable with the idea of Joelle,” Siwa said. “My boyfriend calls me Joelle. My family doesn't call me Joelle. My friends call me JoJo, but Jenna Johnson from Dancing with the Stars calls me Joelle. So it's kind of been a mix in my life.”
“I feel like Joelle more so now than ever," Siwa added. "I'm still meeting her myself. I think Joelle is the happy version of JoJo, and I feel like JoJo is the crazy version of Joelle.”
