The Scottish actors celebrated with Brazil fans despite their home team's loss
Karen Gillan accidentally ended up on a bus full of Brazil fans after watching Scotland's loss to the country's team in the 2026 World Cup.
The Scottish actress, 38, shared a series of Instagram Stories on Wednesday, June 24 documenting the moments after her home country's team lost the match against Brazil. In the video, Gillan wore a Scotland jersey next to fellow Scottish actor Tony Curran as fans seated around her on the bus can be seen wearing Brazil jerseys and chanting "Brazil, Brazil, Brazil!"
"I think we're on the wrong bus," the Guardians of the Galaxy star joked with a laugh. "But we love you Brazil!"
In the following clip, the Jumanji actress joins her fellow bus passengers in chanting "No Scotland, No Party," in spite of the team's loss. In another clip, Gillan filmed Curran, 56, swapping jerseys with a Brazil fan and posing for a photo together before Gillan filmed herself dancing along with the group as they sang the Scottish team's chant, set to the tune of The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army."

"Thank you for joining me on this World Cup journey," she captioned the final slide, featuring a selfie while she wore a hoodie. "WHAT A NIGHT!"
On June 24, Scotland lost to Brazil 3-0, clinching the Group C win for Brazil. Scotland has to wait for the results of other games to learn their future in the tournament, but Brazil is already set to play Japan on Monday, June 29.

Gillan has long been proud of her Scottish roots, and tied the knot with husband Nick Kocher at Castle Toward in Scotland in 2022, PEOPLE previously reported. Gillan revealed that she and Kocher were husband and wife through an Instagram post captioned, āLast May..." which featured photos of the celebration, including a bagpipe player who soundtracked the occasion.
