Katseye announced Bannerman's hiatus from the group in a statement in February.
"After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and well-being," the group said at the time. "We fully support this decision. Katseye remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right."

That same day, they discussed Bannerman's absence from the group during an interview with The Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music.
"Manon has been on hiatus and we love her so much and we know that she's doing well," Sophia Laforteza said during the interview. You know, she got to talk to the fans about it and we're just really excited and we're really just rooting for all of us, like each other."
Laforteza continued, "We've gone through so much with each other, and so, at the end of the day, we just all want each other to win. And to be good. And to feel good, and to be happy and just, you know, just keep showing up for what we want."
"We also want to say, like, she's our sister forever," Lara Raj added. "You know what I mean? We love her so much and we built this together. So we just want to give her all the space and love she needs."
