Khloé Kardashian and Kris Jenner spilled new details about who pays for their annual Christmas Eve party, which the mom of six began hosting in 1978

Khloé revealed that she and her siblings all work together with Kris to plan the event

The famous family has become well-known for the extravaganza, which is being held at Kendall Jenner's home this year

The famous Kardashian-Jenner Christmas Eve party is a true family affair.

During a recent episode of Khloé Kardashian’s Khloé In Wonder Land podcast, she and mom Kris Jenner revealed the inner workings of their annual holiday bash, which they co-host with Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. The family matriarch, 70, admitted that when she started the tradition decades ago, she had no idea it would turn into such a highly coveted event.

“The party was always at my house,” Kris explained. “The first one was [in] 1978, and there was very few people, and family, you know, very small family. And then it just grew and grew and grew.”

“You invite the most random people,” Khloé, 41, chimed in. “You won't see these people. And then it's like, ‘Oh, the nurse that gave me an IV 12 years ago, I remember her. Wanda, let's get Wanda an invite.’ And then you're like, ‘Oh, the CVS pharmacy person.’ And we're like, ‘Mom, we need to filter the list.’”

Joking that she’s “been scolded many times” for her over-inviting, Kris noted that the party became larger when all her kids got older and wanted to bring friends of their own.

“All of a sudden there was a hundred more people, now there's a couple hundred, two, three hundred people at the Christmas party,” the momager said, explaining that was when they decided to have a different family member host at their house each year. “I thought it was so much more fun."

While Khloé agreed, she confessed that she would rather leave it to her siblings to host. (This year, Kendall, 30, is hosting.)

“I won't take the reins. I don't want the reins. I don't want that many people in my home," Khloé teased, going on to credit her mom: "This year, I was very proud of you for saving me. ‘Cause they were like, Kim's house is under construction. So is Kourtney's house. I don't know what's going on with Kylie's, why that wasn't an option. I don't even know what happened. And then you were like, ‘Let's put it at Kendall's.’ I was so happy because everyone was like, ‘Khloe's house.’ Do you think I want people in my home? No. No. No. I don't want the party.”

Kris went on to recall one of her favorite years — when Kourtney, 46, was in charge in 2019 and decorated entirely with red roses and trees.

“That was so stunning,” she said. “It's so exciting to see how you guys interpret your own Christmas Eve and how we can all enjoy each other every year.”

Still, the entire family contributes monetarily no matter who is assigned to host. Khloé explained that they have a shared Pinterest board and have meetings to decide on a theme.

“Not everyone shows up and that's fine,” she quipped. “But if you don't show up, you don't get a say so. Like, then you can't come to the third meeting and be like, ‘Oh, I don't like that.’ Nope. We've already had two meetings before. We've decided on X, Y, and Z.”

“And we all equally split the cost of the party,” she revealed.

“Yeah, because it gets really crazy,” Kris added (experts estimated that Kim's party in 2018 cost around $1.3 million). “I think one of the most fun things, too, is to be able to share things with our friends. And so we've always been able to do some really amazing gifts for everybody at the end of the party."
