There's a possibility that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry might make a public appearance alongside Prince William and Princess Kate next year, despite ongoing friction between them.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to the UK in August after spending six years in the US, having stepped back from royal responsibilities in early 2020. Meghan and Harry have been embroiled in conflict with the royal couple, who are understood to have no intention of meeting with or mending relations with the Sussexes. Meghan and Harry were last spotted in public with William and Catherine in September 2022 during a walkabout in Windsor, mere days after the passing of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The couple appeared together before mourning royal supporters, though minimal engagement took place between them. It comes as Prince Harry revealed why he and Meghan Markle left the UK decision to the last minute.

The couple haven't been known to communicate since, with the brothers reportedly steering clear of each other at a memorial service for their late mother's brother-in-law, Robert Fellowes, in 2024. William was allegedly informed of his brother and sister-in-law's unexpected visit to the UK just days before their arrival.
Discussing a potential public appearance involving the royals, who were once called the "fab four," royal commentator Jake Ashton suggested it would be more probable to happen next year rather than in the final months of 2026.

The OLBG expert indicated there is a 6/4 probability of the appearance occurring next year, representing a 40 percent likelihood.

He stated, "Could we see the Royal Fab Four back together again? Harry and Meghan's return to Britain has put that question firmly back on the table, but to be honest it's not looking THAT likely. The public reception in Nottingham shows there is still an appetite to see the Sussexes out and about - but a warm welcome from the public and a reunion with William and Kate are two very different things."
Ashton added, "At 6/4, our predictions give a joint appearance next year with a 40 percent chance. That's a realistic possibility, although it remains far from certain. The chances of it happening this year however, are a much less optimistic 33.3 percent."
He further noted that any potential appearance might serve as a "long-awaited photo opportunity" rather than a genuine attempt at reconciliation.

Jake elaborated, "It might be unlikely to happen this year, but even one photograph of the four together would make front pages around the world. The bigger question would be whether it marked a turning point in their relationship or simply a long-awaited photo op for the press."
Meghan and Harry embarked on a series of semi-royal engagements in Nottingham on Thursday, the very city where the couple made their first public appearance following their engagement in late 2017.
As the pair made their way to their opening visit of the day at the city's Community Recording Studio (CRS), between 150 and 200 supporters turned out to give them a warm reception.
The local community charity provides a range of youth development programs. The couple then proceeded to their second engagement at the Himmah Hub, a community action group tackling food poverty across Nottingham. Their final stop of the day was Epic Partners, also located in Nottingham. The couple is currently believed to be residing somewhere in the Cotswolds with their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five.
