Miley Cyrus will appear in the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special
Variety reports that the star will be interviewed by podcast host Alex Cooper in the special, which will also feature never-before-seen footage and recreations of the show’s sets

Miley Cyrus is officially returning to the world of Hannah Montana — a role that made her famous.
Variety reports that Cyrus 33, will appear in the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special debuting March 24 on Disney+. The special, which will be filmed in front of a live studio audience, will feature an interview with Cyrus by Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper and will feature never-before-seen footage and recreations of the show’s sets.
‘“Hannah Montana’ will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection,” Cyrus told the outlet. “The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”

On the show, which debuted in 2006 and ran for four seasons, Cyrus played Miley Stewart, a teenager living a double life as a pop star named Hannah Montana. The franchise also included a movie, which was released in 2009.
The role catapulted Cyrus and led her to make history in 2024 as the youngest person ever to be named a Disney Legend, an honor bestowed on individuals who have significantly influenced the company.

Cyrus has in recent months alluded to a Hannah Montana reunion, saying at the 37th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival in January that the team was "working hard" on a celebration.
And in an interview on SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio, Cyrus said she wanted to do something "special" for the show's 20th anniversary.
“I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this that now sits here today. Without Hannah, there really wouldn’t be this kind of… this me," she said.
