Prince Harry gave a rare glimpse into how his young family is adjusting to life back in Britain during an interview on Friday, conducted moments after he completed a skydive near Toronto in honour of a 102-year-old Second World War veteran and in support of military charities.
Once safely back on solid ground, the 42-year-old was asked about the family's return to the UK.
"It's been great. It's been great to be back on British soil," he said, adding with a laugh: "It's great to be back on terra firma, actually!"
With Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, now several weeks into their autumn term, Harry struck an upbeat tone. "The kids are happy in school, and it gives me a chance to really focus on Invictus in Birmingham," he said. "The Games are in July next year."
Harry, Meghan and their two children touched down in England on August 26, arriving in time for the start of the autumn term at a new school.
The transition was not entirely smooth, however; just two days after classes began, Archie and Lilibet were moved to a different school following concerns raised by the family's security team about their daily commute.
A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed the decision at the time, telling People: "The decision for the children to move schools was taken following a discussion with the family's security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements."
A source close to the couple added that settling the children in "has been, and remains, their focus. Everything else will fall into place when the time is right."

Earlier in the week, Harry offered another candid insight into family life during his annual visit to the WellChild Awards in London on September 21. Speaking to Hello! Magazine, he revealed that both children had been struggling with the start of the week.
"At breakfast this morning, they had a bit of Monday blues," he said, comparing it to his own childhood. "It was always Sunday night blues when you're being sent away to boarding school like I was."
Rather than letting the moment pass, Harry told the children about the seriously ill youngsters and their families he would be meeting that evening.
"They were genuinely fascinated and asking all sorts of questions," he said, describing the importance of instilling awareness through both his and Meghan's charitable work.
The move back to Britain had been on Harry's mind for some time, according to a source close to the duke, who said he wants Archie and Lilibet "to understand the world he grew up in and where their family comes from."
For Meghan, who was raised in California, the relocation offers a different but equally compelling opportunity.
A source from the couple's former base in Montecito told People: "Meghan feels very fortunate that they're able to allow Archie and Lilibet to experience both worlds."
The desire for the children to connect with both sides of their heritage appears to be a driving force behind the family's transatlantic shift, with both parents keen for their son and daughter to appreciate the backgrounds that shaped them.
