The queen of the rewear, Princess Kate just dusted off a piece from her wardrobe that we hadn’t seen in five years.

In an address shared to the official Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram account, the royal was seen wearing a red-and-black houndstooth dress that looked a little familiar—though it had been a moment since we last saw her in it.

Courtesy of one of her go-to London-based designers, Alessandra Rich, the look was crafted from silk crepe de chine with a V neckline, exaggerated collar, and long puff sleeves that tapered into structured cuffs. Its drop-waist pleated skirt added a bit of movement to the retro-inspired number, and the princess accessorized it with a pendant necklace and little gold hoops.

The first (and last!) time that Kate was seen in the piece—which came from the label’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection—was back in 2021. She wore it to the reopening of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, after it was closed due to the pandemic.

Five years later, the prince and princess spoke in Welsh to wish “everyone in Wales a very happy St. David’s Day” on social media. “Wales is very close to our hearts and we look forward to every visit,” Kate expressed, with the translation added to the video.

“It is a beautiful country with a rich history and wonderful people,” William added, before the princess wrapped things up by wishing the people a “day full of celebration with family and friends.”
