If you're gracing Las Vegas for the holidays, just one look at the Sphere and you might think 2026 is the Year of the Penguin.

That's because the beloved internet-born characters known as Pudgy Penguins have taken over the Sin City landmark, currently displaying on its Exosphere through Dec. 29. The all-new appearance signals the next chapter of the global character franchise as it expands across culture, entertainment and consumer products.

What started as a collection of digital artwork composed of NFTs (remember those?) in 2021 is now a hugely popular brand that also produces merchandise, toys and content, fostering "creativity, freedom, and community," according to its website. "We believe in the power of play and imagination, and we're committed to helping you unlock your inner child," it also states.

Sphere has made headlines in other ways of late, like when Timothée Chalametappeared atop the iconic venue as a unique way of promoting his new movie Marty Supreme. The Oscar-nominated actor, 29, made history as the first person to appear on top of Sphere, which transformed into a ping pong ball (in honor of the movie's storyline) while text appears, "Marty Supreme in theaters Christmas Day."

Directed by Josh Safdie, the film also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara and Fran Drescher.

And looking ahead, John Fogerty will be heading to Las Vegas on New Year's Eve for a special concert that fans won’t ever forget. Teasing the upcoming performance in a new Instagram post on Monday, Dec. 15, Fogerty, 80, got fans hyped up for the performance at Sin City’s Planet Hollywood, calling it “the party you won’t want to miss!”

The highly anticipated performance will be a celebration of Fogerty’s legacy as well as his 80th birthday, which he marked earlier in the year.
