Tiger Woods has sparked concern among fans after making a recent public appearance following his arrest and rehab stint, with some questioning the golf legend’s wellbeing.
The 15-time major champion has kept an extremely low profile since his rollover crash in March, which led to him being charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test after police found two opioid tablets in his pocket. Woods subsequently spent time in rehab in Switzerland and had not been seen publicly since returning to the United States until Tuesday night.
The golf legend appeared in a pre-recorded video message for fellow former pro Notah Begay III, who was being honored with the Payne Stewart Award. It comes as Wyndham Clark responds to cheating allegations after damning footage from the BMW Championship.

The clip aired on Golf Channel and was quickly circulated on social media, with fans surprised to see Woods after several months away from the spotlight.
"Tiger looks a shell of his former self, sadly." one fan wrote. Another user added: "Geez, Tiger doesn’t look so good." A third person said: "Tiger looks unrecognizable." While a fourth person said: "Looking sober, but damn he's aged.
Others urged people to show greater understanding for what others may be dealing with, stressing that Woods is no different from anyone else facing personal struggles. One fan wrote: "How about everyone just understanding what we're all wrestling/dealing with and that Tiger is like all of us. Remember what we're wresting with and have a little humility or, a lot."

Another person said: "The way everyone in these replies is just diagnosing him like he's a lab specimen is crazy. man accepted an award for his friend and yall turned it into a wellness check."
Woods is expected to make his first courtroom appearance in early September after the hearing was reportedly postponed multiple times as prosecutors continue their investigation in South Florida.
Represented by attorney Douglas Duncan, Woods waived his arraignment and requested a jury trial. His most recent hearing took place on August 4, while a July ruling allowed prosecutors to obtain hospital records related to the crash.

Woods had been closing in on a return to competitive golf and was widely expected to feature at The Masters before his crash in March. He has not played since the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon in Scotland. Since then, he has undergone surgery to repair a torn Achilles and had a seventh procedure on his back.
Woods also recently ended a month-long social media silence to respond to the PGA Tour’s major changes to its end-of-season schedule. In a post on X, Woods backed the move saying: "The conclusion of the season should be worthy of the journey it takes to get there. Today’s announcement is a result of the hard work and passion of our players. Excited to usher in a new era of match play on the @PGATOUR."
