Actress and long-time critic of President Donald Trump, Rosie O’Donnell, made headlines with her candid comments on why she believes Trump has held a grudge against her for so long. Without holding anything back on their decades-long feud, Rosie called Trump “innately sexist“. He has threatened to revoke her U.S. citizenship in the past, calling her a “threat to humanity”.

Rosie O’Donnell explains why she believes Trump’s animosity has lasted so long

During an appearance on ‘The View With Jake Tapper’, O’Donnell described Trump’s fixation on her as personal rather than political, calling him “innately sexist.” She also argued that his obsession with her is personal rather than political.

“I seem to be, you know, the obsession he can’t get rid of,” Rosie targeted Trump. “He’s obsessed with Barack Obama, and I think that’s because he’s innately a racist. And he’s obsessed with me because he’s innately a sexist.”

Her comments follow a video Trump posted to Truth Social earlier this month, in which he portrayed himself as a doctor “diagnosing” several of his critics, including O’Donnell.

The comedian also opened up about receiving online threats and mean comments from Trump’s supporters. “I don’t take it seriously. I don’t listen to what a deranged person would yell at me randomly on the street, and I don’t listen to what MAGA people have to say about my opinions. I really don’t. It was more the constant acceptance of what he’s [Trump] done,” she said in the interview.

O’Donnell and Donald Trump‘s public feud dates back to 2006; O’Donnell criticized Trump’s presidency, calling it the “worst thing” to happen to the U.S, earlier this month. She also said she was “horrified” by his role in the reversal of Folarin Balogun’s red card at the FIFA World Cup.

O’Donnell has also spoken openly about moving to Ireland after the 2024 election, saying she wanted to protect her non-binary autistic child and would consider returning only when she feels it is safe.
