Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. cut $550,000 from the price of their Brentwood home three months after listing it for sale
The couple purchased the six-bedroom property in 2013 for $6.1 million and listed it for $10.5 million in May
The home features a pool, hot tub, barbecue area, and was previously listed for rent at $60,000 per month
Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. have slashed the price of their Los Angeles family home just three months after listing it for sale.
According to property records, the couple gave their abode a $550,000 price cut on Monday, Aug. 24, bringing the sale price down to $9.95 million. The home was first listed on May 28 for $10.5 million, PEOPLE previously reported.
Located in the Brentwood neighborhood of L.A., the home features six bedrooms, six bathrooms and is spread out across 7,318 square feet. Gellar and Prinze Jr. purchased the house in 2013 for $6.1 million, according to property records.
Cindy Ambuehl of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California currently holds the listing for the property.

The Hamptons-inspired residence boasts a number of impressive amenities, including an extensive pool with an in-ground hot tub, lush landscaping, a barbecue area and multiple entertaining spaces.
It served as the family home for the couple — who had been married for nearly 24 years — before they first listed the home for rent in 2025 for a cool $60,000 per month. The pair share two children together: daughter Charlotte, 16, and son Rocky, 13.

Gellar previously told PEOPLE that the secret to her and her husband’s long-term success is all thanks to “one bedroom, two bathrooms,” adding that having those separate spaces at home “stops a lot of petty fighting.”
Speaking to PEOPLE in 2023, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star shed light on some of the hardships that come with owning a home, many of which she realized after becoming a first-time homeowner at the age of 20.

“Being responsible for a house — especially for me, who grew up in an apartment building that had a maintenance person — you don’t realize how overwhelming it really is,” Gellar said at the time, referring to her New York City upbringing.
While Gellar, who was in the middle of filming Scream 2 when she bought her first property, admitted that being a first-time homeowner was not easy, she also shared at the time how it was also a huge milestone for her: “It’s crazy because I was the first person in my family to ever own an apartment, a house, anything,” she said.
