Sienna Miller said in a new interview that relationships between older women and younger men remain "fetishized rather than normalized"

Miller shares her older daughter Marlowe, 13, with ex Tom Sturridge and another daughter with boyfriend Oli Green; the couple are currently expecting another baby

"I think the whole world is embracing women as they age in a way that is unprecedented," Miller said

Sienna Miller is speaking out in defense of relationships between older women and younger men.

In an interview with U.K. outlet Grazia published Monday, March 2, Miller said, "The idea of an older woman with a younger man, for example, is still fetishized rather than normalized," adding, "There’s a disparity there that I would love to see disappear."

Miller, 44, has been in a relationship with actor Oli Green, 29, since 2022. The couple share a daughter, whom they welcomed in January 2024. Miller revealed that they are expecting another child together in December 2025. (She also shares her 13-year-old daughter, Marlowe, with ex Tom Sturridge.)

Miller made her screen acting debut in the 2001 movie South Kensington, when she was roughly 20 years old. The actress said in the interview that she has memories of "being 21 and auditioning to be the love interest of a 45-year-old man." "Things have moved on since then," she said.

Elsewhere in the the interview, Miller said, "I think the whole world is embracing women as they age in a way that is unprecedented. I’m thinking of Dame Maggie Smith in that Loewe campaign, Charlotte Rampling for Givenchy and Massimo Dutti — we’re celebrating aging in a way that we’ve never done before. You were kind of obsolete at 30 and that’s absolutely not the case any more.' "

In June 2024, Miller opened up about the age difference between her and Green, telling Harper's Bazaar, "There is a difference in the way that generation of men respect women. It’s specific to him, he is very wise and well-adjusted, but I do believe it’s also that generation. They have grown up with a slightly more level playing field. I see it in his female friends as well as in the men."

Miller added that as she's grown older, she's learned from "people who are younger about how clear they are in their boundaries, having that self-assuredness and self-advocacy, having 'no' in the repertoire in a way that we just weren’t encouraged to have."

Miller most recently appeared on the big screen in Kevin Costner's 2024 Western epic Horizon - An American Story. She will next star in the John Madden biopic Madden, in theaters this November.
