Tall Ships return to Sandy Hook for America’s 250th Anniversary

A celebration is on the horizon.

Marked by fireworks, festivals, parades and a Times Square ball drop, America is preparing for a big anniversary — her 250th birthday. This year, July Fourth signifies a historic milestone that commemorates and celebrates the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the journey of our nation’s past, and honors the contributions of all Americans.

To celebrate this moment, Sail250 kicks off America’s 250th Anniversary Maritime Celebration on Friday, July 3.

The semiquincentennial celebration will feature the largest international maritime gathering in modern American history. Sailors will come together and international fleets will arrive in grand style and spend a week in the heart of the nation's first capitol in the universal fellowship of freedom, according to the event's website.
