The four-time NBA champion also shared a four-word congratulatory message to the newlyweds
The couple tied the knot at Madison Square Garden with 1,000 guests, including Selena Gomez and Bradley Cooper
Shaquille O’Neal has words for newlyweds Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
The NBA legend, 54, revealed at the Fanatics Fest at Javits Center in New York City on Friday, July 17, whether he received an invitation alongside his friend Charles Barkley to the couple’s July 3 nuptials.
“No. Thanks, Taylor. Thanks, Travis,” he teased exclusively to PEOPLE while looking deadpan at the camera, before sharing a four-word congratulatory message to Swift, 36, and Kelce, 36.
“May it last forever,” O'Neal said.
The 14-time Grammy winner and the three-time NFL champion married on July 3 at famed New York City venue Madison Square Garden with 1,000 guests in attendance, including Lena Dunham, Jack Antonoff, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, Mariska Hargitay and others.
After the pair were announced husband and wife, the jumbotrons outside the arena displayed the happy news: “JUST&T MARRIED!”

The wedding came nearly a year after Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post shared on Aug. 26, 2025, which included several photos from their enchanting garden proposal.
The couple started dating quietly in 2023 shortly after Kelce mentioned her on his New Heightspodcast.

They later took their romance public in September 2023 when Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game, sitting in a private suite alongside Kelce’s mother, Donna.
As for O’Neil, he wed Shaunie Nelson in 2002 and the pair welcomed four children together, including sons Shareef and Shaqir and daughters Amirah and Me’arah before they finalized their divorce in 2011. Shaq also has a stepson, Myles, from Shaunie’s previous relationship, and a daughter, Taahirah, with his former girlfriend, Arnetta Yardbourgh.

In 2022, he revealed on an episode of The Pivot Podcast, how his marriage with Shaunie unraveled, explaining that he “wasn’t protecting her and protecting those vows.”
“She did exactly what she was supposed to do and gave me beautiful kids, take care of the house, take care of the corporate stuff. It was just all me. Sometimes, when you make a lot of mistakes like that, you can’t really come back from that,” he said at the time.

The former couple has since restored their friendship, and the Hall of Famer said he had nothing but compliments when talking about his ex-wife.
“She was awesome, she really was. It was all me,” he explained.
