New York Mets mascot Mr. Met dressed up as Wilson from Cast Away to meet Tom Hanks.

Hanks played along with the bit, screaming out for Wilson, as he does in the film.

The Oscar-winning actor is a diehard baseball fan — but of too many teams?

Tom Hanks had a home run reunion over the weekend.

The noted baseball fan and A League of Their Ownstar attended Saturday night's big game in the Subway Series between crosstown rivals the New York Yankees and New York Mets. As Hanks sat in his seat at Citi Field, rocking his Mets hat, he was approached by a familiar head shape and symbol.

Donning the signature red handprinted face, the Mets beloved mascot, Mr. Met, dressed up as Wilson, the volleyball, the lone companion to Hanks' character in the 2000 survival drama Cast Away. Hanks went along with the bit, screaming out for Wilson, as he does in the Oscar-nominated film.

Hanks previously "reunited" with Wilson ahead of throwing out the first pitch at a Cleveland Guardians game in 2022, holding the volleyball over his head on the mound.

Hanks boasts impressive baseball fan bonafides. He's a fixture at Los Angeles Dodgers games, where, like he was on Saturday, he keeps it old school and tracks the action by hand with an official scorecard. Hanks also starred in Penny Marshall's iconic sports comedy A League of Their Own, telling a fictionalized account of the professional women's baseball league. And then, as a teen, he worked as a vendor for his local team, the Oakland Athletics.

"I went down to sell peanuts and soda, and thinking it would be like in a TV show where you saw the young kid trying to make a thing," Hanks told Jimmy Kimmel in 2019. "Well, first of all, I got robbed twice. Note to self: Hide those wads of cash. Don't be walking with a wad of cash in your pocket.”

Now, as lovable as Hanks is, there needs to be a real debate about whether he is breaking the official rule of sports fan monogamy, or if he's allowed to play the field now.

After growing up an Athletics fan, Hanks is routinely cheering on the Dodgers, was wearing a Mets hat on Saturday, and rocked Guardians gear for his first pitch. That is blasphemy to diehards, but the owners of the Athletics have moved the squad out of Oakland, previously drawing the wrath of Hanks. And so maybe he's allowed to test out the market and see who feels right to him as his next home team.
